The Dutch Antilles Aruba Part 1

The first part of a three part series of one of the greatest places I have had the pleasure of visit, hopefully my insight might make you want to travel and fall in love with this place too.

Aruba has been our family destination for years, but due to the expense of travelling from Scotland (where I am from) going there has been a really difficult task. It has been five years since I last made the tremendous 9hr flight to “Paradise”. That said, when I get asked where I wanted to go it always seemed clear where that was, although places such as New York and Mexico were also thrown about during the brainstorming.

Scotland To Aruba

So how long, far or where even is this Paradise? Well, it takes a flight from Scotland to London (1hour 30 minutes) so after a good nights sleep, the long haul flight awaited me and luckily for me the on-board entertainment was more than decent. But best of all I was getting to fly on Thomson long haul airlines plane. This aircraft had some amazing flight ergonomics that made it worth looking at their online demo. Following various media on board, stretching my tired legs and eating some of the food the flight finally arrived in the Dutch Antilles which is nearly 4,574 miles away from my home.

Full Of Friendly People

The small country within the Caribbean is built up of regions mainly in the city zone beside the resorts. There’s no army, no restriction, packed full of friendly people from the locals to the visitors but you will mainly find Americans, Dutch and English visitors. I can truly say all the people I met were exciting; everything from their outlook on life, their beloved careers, their sense of humour and sharing in memories were unique.
